Terms of Use

Last updated: March 11, 2022

Welcome to the Free QR Code Generator ("Service"), operated by Adam Blackington ("Operator," "we," "us," or "our") and accessible at qrcode.adamblackington.blog. By accessing or using this Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, do not use this Service.

1. Service Description

This Service is a free, browser-based QR code generator that allows users to create customized QR codes with custom colors, gradient styles, logos, and multiple export formats (PNG, SVG, JPEG, WebP). All QR code generation and processing occurs entirely within your web browser. We do not store, transmit, or have access to the content you encode or the logos you upload.

2. Disclaimer of Warranties

3. Limitation of Liability

4. No Uptime or Availability Guarantee

This Service is provided free of charge and on an "as available" basis. We make no guarantee, representation, or warranty regarding:

The Service may be temporarily or permanently suspended, modified, or discontinued at any time without prior notice or liability. We are not obligated to maintain, support, or update the Service.

5. QR Code Accuracy and Scannability

While this Service uses industry-standard QR code generation with Q-level error correction (approximately 25% data recovery), we make no guarantee that generated QR codes will:

Custom styling choices — including dark-colored backgrounds, low-contrast color combinations, oversized logos, or unusual dot patterns — may reduce or eliminate a QR code's ability to be scanned. The Operator is not responsible for QR codes that fail to scan or that encode incorrect data.

6. User Responsibilities

By using this Service, you agree that:

7. Intellectual Property

You retain all ownership rights to the QR codes you generate, the content you encode, and the logos or images you upload. We claim no ownership or license over your generated QR codes or uploaded content.

The Service itself — including its design, code, user interface, and underlying technology — is the property of the Operator. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works of the Service.

8. Amazon Affiliate Disclosure

This Service participates in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon.com.

When you enter an Amazon.com URL into this Service, we may automatically append our affiliate tracking ID to the URL encoded in your QR code. This means:

This disclosure is made in compliance with FTC regulations (16 CFR Part 255) and FTC Endorsement Guides.

9. Data Collection and Privacy

QR Code Content: All QR code generation occurs entirely in your browser. We do not collect, store, transmit, or have access to the URLs, text, or other content you encode in QR codes. Uploaded logos are processed client-side and are never sent to any server.

Google Analytics: This Service uses Google Analytics to collect anonymized usage data including pages visited, browser type, device type, general geographic region, and referral sources. This data is used solely to understand usage patterns and improve the Service. For more information, see Google's Privacy Policy.

Google AdSense: This Service displays advertisements served by Google AdSense. Google may use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this or other websites. You may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ad Settings.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless the Operator from and against any and all claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or in connection with: (a) your use or misuse of this Service; (b) your violation of these Terms; (c) your infringement of any third-party rights; or (d) the content you encode in QR codes generated using this Service.

11. Changes to These Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms of Use at any time without prior notice. Changes become effective immediately upon being posted to this page. Your continued use of the Service after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. We encourage you to review this page periodically.

12. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States, without regard to conflict of law principles.

13. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision shall be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary so that the remaining Terms remain in full force and effect.
